Southern Crowned-Pigeon of New Guinea

Southern Crowned-Pigeon of New Guinea (beautifully photographed by Simon Woolley) has rich maroon underparts. These mostly ground-dwelling pigeons prove to rather close relatives of the now-extinct Dodo.
